Kitchen Design Trends 2022

Trends come and go, we all know that. But, what you do not want to do is pay bookoos of money for a kitchen remodel and have it looking outdated in a matter of years! I spend a lot of time researching design trends not only for myself but for my clients. In the last year I have seen a huge rise in certain trends that are making a scene in the kitchen design world.

I have put together a list of my favorite “timeless trends” here for inspiration!

Glass Front Cabinetry

Oh yes, glass front cabinetry is on the rise! This beautiful style opens up the kitchen and created a beautiful way to stylize your kitchen.

C and C Cabinetry Tampa

Create a beautiful display in these cabinets by adding lighting and pops or color with unique dishware or even plants! I love the look of these cabinets in a white kitchen like the one above- credit to C and CC Cabinetry. But don’t shy away from using utilizing glass fronts with darker cabinetry to add to the drama!

Decor Pad

The kitchen above is a great example of how to use glass front cabinetry with dark finishes. This design creates the feeling of a large kitchen, even though the footprint of this kitchen is small. By stacking the glass front cabinetry to the ceiling and adding interior lighting in the upper cabinets, your eye is instantly drawn up to the ceiling and creates a the feeling of grandeur.

Houzz

Add some contrast to your kitchen with two toned inset glass front cabinetry. This unique kitchen is a perfect blend of black and white and the glass front cabinetry makes the room feel much larger then it actually is. Utilizing glass front cabinetry like this in spaces with large windows will also create more natural light.

Another great reason to add glass front cabinetry to your kitchen is for added depth and texture. I absolutely love the custom bar area above. The natural wood, honed countertops, and glass front cabinetry create a beautiful focal point in this space.

Custom Countertop Hutches

These beautiful custom hutches are showing up everywhere and I love it. For one thing, if you opt to use the glass front doors, this is a great way to display your best pieces. On the other hand, even without the glass front doors, these hutched are a great source for extra storage. If you can sacrifice the countertop space this is a great alternative to pantries or even built in oven cabinetry.

Follow The Yellow Brick Home

What an absolutely stunning example of a countertop hutch! This hutch is built in with decorative fillers to create a unique full custom look. Along with the inset cabinet doors and immaculate crown molding, what is not to love!

Houzz

Another great way to create a focal point in your space is to place these hutches at the end of you cabinet run. above is a great example of how to use these hutches for drama. This one in particular feels balanced by the large statement hood in this kitchen.

Home Bunch

Double the hutch, double the beauty.

If you don’t have the space in your kitchen, you can utilize this design trend to create a statement area in your dining room. The blue and white chosen for this design really creates a unique side bar in this room.

Statement Hoods

This is one of my favorite kitchen design trends. I love the way hoods look and feel in a space. They are an excellent way to create a focal point and are limitlessly versatile. Hoods can make your kitchen feel upscale and sophisticated, rustic, modern, industrial, contemporary, and the list goes on!

This “french industrial” design is unique and inviting and that Zinc hood steals show! I love the textures and colors in this design featured on decorpad.com. This is a perfect example of how a statement hood can completely command a space.

Glamour anyone? What a beaut! This black and gold hood really amps up this kitchen and looks perfect above the full height marble backsplash. Although, I may have opted for the high gloss gold finished for the hardware as well..

plankandpillow.com

This rustic raw wood hood adds beachy charm to this kitchen. Love the wicker chairs at the island as well!

francoiosandco.com

This brushed stainless steel hood adds texture and charm to this elegant kitchen and high gloss herringbone tile adds subtle contrast.

Moody Colors

Oh Yes, slowly fading are the days of all white kitchens with white subway tile backsplash! We are moving on people! Soon to come, greens, blacks, and earth tones paired with texture and unique finishes.

This design features beautiful use of a soap stone apron front sink and black full overlay cabinetry.
